The main differences between Exam 70-685 and 70-686 are:
- Exam 70-685 tests your skills in supporting Windows 7 operating system and applications running on Windows 7 on a day to day basis. Whilst Exam 70-686 tests your skills in planning, installing and migrating earlier versions of Windows to Windows 7. - The exams count towards different MCITP level certifications. Exam 70-685 counts toward the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 course whilst the Exam 70-686 counts towards the MCITP Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7.
