This chart published by internetlive stats shows  how the US internet Subscribers have increased since 2000 Onwards 



From 43% web  Penetration in  United states in  2000 it increased to 68% in 2005, a growth of 25% in mere 5 years



 2010 saw penetration levels in US grow to 74%, an increase of 6% penetration levels ( 68 to 74%) with 5% user growth



 By 2014 penetration levels had reached 87%  penetration rates , an increase if 13% as compared to 2010 ,
