According to data from the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), 73.3% of people in China who used the internet for the first time in 2013 accessed it via a mobile phone, compared with 28.7% who enjoyed desktop access. But in 2014, though mobile phones were still more common among new internet users than desktop computers, the gap had closed significantly.
Last year, CNNIC reported, 64.1% of new internet users went online via mobile phone, while 51.6% did so via desktop—a difference of 12.5 percentage points, vs. 44.6 percentage points in 2013. While critics claimn that the doom of the PC is very near. Chinese data suggest otherwise
