MIDDLE EAST  DIGITAL AND MOBILE INDICATORS

With an Urbanization percentage of  67% . The middle east is home to 238 million  with 87million active internet users(36%).With 294 million mobile subscribers,the  middle east  mobile penetration stands at a  remarkable 124% . Users who access their social media account from their mobile web does not exceed 35 million, ( 15%)

 584 million europeans are active web users out of which 46% have active social media accounts, with 1.1billion mobile connections. 34% of users , around 287 europeans use their mobile devices to log onto their social media accounts

The African mobile markets have been  one of the fastest growing across the world with an exploding mobile  market . One of the reason for this overnight increase in mobile users have  been " the lack of investment in  setting up  technical  infrastructure  for land lines and   wireless networks by these countries .The  African mobile market  has entirely been facilitated by investments in mobile networks  rather than the conventional  land line to mobile transformation.
 
Around 298 million  Africans  have internet access  with a mere 9% social media users  ( 103m) .Its mobile users exceed 900million with a 79% penetration.
Meanwhile a mere 7% use mobile to log into  their social media accounts

In Asia pacific out of a total population of 4.1 billion around 1.4billion have an active internet connection a penetration of  35%. Users having an active social media connection  number  1billion  with a 26% penetration .
Meanwhile moving over to mobile, 3.7 billion or 93% of population has a mobile. The number of users  accessing social web via mobile is  879 million

Digital Indicators In South Asia : Internet Penetration vs Mobile Penetration

MOBILE BASED  INDICATORS : South Asian Active Mobile broadband users increased to 62million, which takes the mobile broadband penetration across total population to be 3.8milliom , with 89milion consumers going social via the mobile device

Sub Saharan Region is the world next biggest mobile Goldmine,mobile web to see 20 times growth

Recent  research report published by Ericsson  on the state of mobile market in sub saharan region showed many suprises. It  clearly shows that Sub-Saharan Africa is currently undergoing a mobile digital revolution with consumers, networks and even media companies wakening up the possibilities of 3G and 4G technology   with the growth of mobile web, digital traffic  has recorded a 100% increase over the last 12 months.

 Most African users go  mobiles for online activities to  overcome a weak or non existent Internet  /landlines infrastructure across  large swaths of the world's poorest continent

However make no mistake about this ..Africa is where the next  mobile gold mine lies . and its claim to be the Mobile Continent is  increasingly becoming a possibility  with researchers predicting a  20-fold  increase in the "Mobile Web" in the next 5 years, which  is  200% higher (double the rate of growth in the rest of the world. ) than other nations 




Recent Data released by Ericsson   forecasts that there will be more than 635m mobile subscriptions in sub-Saharan Africa ( the pdf below explains how this will be happening ). This is predicted to rise, to about million  by late 2019, when it is estimated that three in four mobile subscriptions will be exclusive for mobile web.
