According to the Four out of five individuals have subscribed to mobile services in Europe, while many countries have reached the unique subscriber penetration ceiling (90%) above which mobile growth tends to stall
The total unique subscriber base in Europe is expected to reach 417 million by 2017, with close to 700 million active connections by the same date according to gsma. The rate of growth going forward is likely to be somewhat slower than in recent years, as the high absolute penetration rates means that the market is becoming increasingly saturated.
