Citizens and consumers across 47 Countries will be buying 1.03billion smartphones during the year. Out of that India will be the country where the largest proportion of new smartphones will be sold.
According to figures provided to the Guardian by Mediacell, a research company, 92% of those smartphones sold in India will be to first-time buyers, compared to just over half in the United States
Which means that 92 out of every 100 Indians ,will be buying the smartphone, for the first time in their lives...They will also add more than 400m new users of internet-enabled phones to the global network, vaulting India ahead of the US to make it the second-largest country for smartphone use in the world..
Smartphone users in India and China will together buy more than 500m smartphones in 2014, comprising half of the total that will be sold globally
